Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP Must-Have: Laboring patients experience Circulating on C-Sections Triage experience in outpatient settings Knowledge of Magnesium Sulfate Therapy Experience in Postpartum Hemorrhage Care, including blood administration and Jada device Familiarity with Balloon Inductions, Cytotec Induction, and Pitocin Inductions Ability to provide couplet care Description: This position requires care for antepartum and laboring patients. The nurse will have a patient ratio of 1:2 for laboring patients and 1:1 for active labor. Adequate PPE will be provided. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse who may take a patient assignment. Phlebotomy services are available in-house. The unit has 12 nurses. The charting system used is EMR: Meditech Expanse and GE Centricity Perinatal. IV pumps are Alaris, and medication dispensing is done through Pyxis. There is a weekend rotation every other week. Time off requests require manager approval. Holiday expectations need clarification. The scrub color for this position is pewter. The unit culture is described as family-like.
