Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

7 days on, 7 days off, Night shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM

Job Description

This temporary position offers an opportunity to join a dedicated Medical Surgical team in a rural healthcare setting. As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, you will perform a broad range of nursing duties, providing both direct and indirect patient care across various age groups, from post-partum neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in the medical-surgical department, including high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, and pediatric care.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to handle rapidly changing situations effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including cross-training in areas such as post-partum care, infusion, and wound therapies.
• Manage sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Assist in maintaining infection control principles and monitor for potential adverse reactions to medications and treatments.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license from the state of Utah or a compact state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience is preferred.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications or willingness to obtain them within one year of hire.
• Ability to earn NRP certification within one year of hire and provide related patient care.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, including proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally, demonstrating emotional maturity.
• Reliable and punctual in adhering to the work schedule.
• Willingness to accept additional duties as assigned.
