Access Associate

Access Associate Department: Rochester ENT Location: WNY Rochester Otolaryngology, 360 Linden Oaks #220, Rochester, NY Hours Per Week: Per Diem Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8AM - 4:30PM SUMMARY In a customer service-oriented manner, interviews patients and/or their representative to collect required registration data, including demographic and financial data, and obtains required signatures. Communicates mandated patient information and verifies all information for accuracy. Processes insurance verification, obtains pre-certifications/authorizations, collects co-payments, and communicates with patients regarding financial assistance needs. RESPONSIBILITIES Manages incoming calls while providing necessary information. Greets patients and/or their representatives and provides direction as needed. Schedules and/or preschedules patient appointments. Interviews the patient and/or their representative for necessary information and completes the registration process as defined by departmental policy. Identifies services where no payment source has been identified and follows up with communication of financial assistance and/or payment arrangements. Verifies insurance eligibility/coverage and obtains necessary pre-certifications/authorizations when applicable. Collects/processes co-payments, deductibles and other payment types, and provides an estimate of cost when applicable. Ensures the accuracy of all data collected while meeting the regulatory requirements as outlined by the departmental policy. Communicates with external customers such as payers, physician offices, and other departments. Accurately sets up new patient records via Care Connect. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS None. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s Degree preferred. 1 year of customer service experience preferred. Intermediate computer skills preferred. Customer Service and communication skills preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. PAY RANGE $17.85 - $19.50 #J-18808-Ljbffr
