Correctional Officer IThe Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Office invites applications for the position of Correctional Officer I. Incumbents control and oversee activities of inmates detained within the detention facilities of the Sheriff's Office; and perform related work as required. Applicants must be willing to work overtime, if necessary, and shifts as assigned, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Fresno County Detention Facilities are "no-hostage" facilities. Sound physical condition in all respects is required because of exposure to and need to counteract and control, violent action or behavior. Heavy physical activity as described in Medical Group III may be encountered occasionally to frequently depending upon specific assignments and emergency situations.
