Physical Therapy Assistant Opportunity
GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from experienced Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) for a future opportunity supporting Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado.
This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award.
About the Opportunity
Join a collaborative rehabilitation team providing outpatient physical therapy services to active duty service members, military retirees, and their families. Working under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists, you'll play an important role in helping patients recover from injury, improve mobility, and return to optimal function.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday
- 6:30 AM-3:30 PM
- One-hour unpaid lunch
- No on-call
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Assist with therapeutic exercise programs and functional rehabilitation
- Administer treatments including gait training, therapeutic exercise, ultrasound, traction, heat and cold modalities, and other prescribed interventions
- Observe patient progress and communicate treatment responses to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients in the proper use of assistive devices, home exercise programs, and mobility techniques
- Assist with patient documentation within the electronic medical record
- Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to support high-quality patient care
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current, full, active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license in any U.S. state or territory
- Minimum twelve (12) months of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant within the past thirty-six (36) months
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation setting
- Military or federal healthcare experience
- Strong patient communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic medical records
