Engineering Manager

We have international and domestic slip ring and motor manufacturing facilities to supply our global customers with the best products at the best prices. We are seeking an Engineering Manager with a strong background in motor design—mechanical and/or electromagnetic—to lead and contribute to the development of next‑generation electric motors and motion control related products. This is an entry to mid‑level management position ideal for a leader/doer: someone who can guide a team while remaining hands‑on in design and development. You will be responsible for managing a small team of engineers, both internal and external resources, driving technical execution, and contributing directly to the design and optimization of high‑performance motors for demanding applications. This position is a full‑time onsite position located in our Austin, TX headquarters. Objectives of this Role Lead and mentor a team of engineers. Own the full lifecycle of motor and related motion control product development projects—from concept through production. Contribute directly to the design, simulation, and testing of electric motors and motion systems. Collaborate cross‑functionally with electronics, controls, and manufacturing teams. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of engineering talent. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Utilize CAD tools (Fusion360, AutoCAD, or equivalent) to design products, test fixtures and support mechanical integration. Work with data acquisition systems, motor controllers, and instrumentation to capture and analyze test results. Perform failure analysis, root cause investigations, and reliability assessments to improve product performance. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in electric motor design and systems integration (mechanical and/or electromagnetic/electrical). Proven experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG) and CAD software. Strong understanding of motor topologies (BLDC, PMSM, SRM, etc.). Demonstrated leadership ability—formal or informal—with a collaborative mindset. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, robotics, or high‑performance industrial applications. Familiarity with thermal management, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
