Head of Communications

Role Overview

Lead external communications for an AI data organization supporting frontier-model training and AI-agent evaluation. Shape how the company is understood by media, customers, and the broader AI ecosystem through product storytelling, executive visibility, and strategic public relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the external communications and PR strategy.
• Develop messaging for product launches, partnerships, company announcements, and executive communications.
• Build relationships with journalists, creators, analysts, and industry influencers.
• Secure earned coverage across digital, print, broadcast, podcasts, and social channels.
• Position leaders through interviews, speaking engagements, bylines, and other media opportunities.
• Create executive briefing materials, messaging, and media coaching.
• Manage external PR agencies and communications partners.
• Lead crisis and rapid-response communications when needed.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading communications or PR for high-growth technology companies.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated success earning top-tier media coverage and building long-term press relationships.
• Experience leading communications for product launches and major company announcements.
• Strong strategic judgment and the ability to make complex technical topics clear and compelling.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Experience in public relations, vendor management, partnerships, and communications strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AI, developer tools, enterprise software, or B2B SaaS.
• Familiarity with AI and emerging technologies.
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
• Crisis communications experience.

Work Terms

• Full-time, remote role.

Compensation

• Listed compensation range: $250, 000 to $400, 000 per year.
• National base-salary range: $150, 000 to $200, 000 per year.
• Eligible for equity compensation and, depending on role and company policy, performance-based bonuses.
• Benefits include up to 100% reimbursement of health-insurance premiums, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with company match, and additional remote-workforce benefits.
