As a Cook, you’ll prepare nutritious and delicious meals in a welcoming environment that values teamwork, quality, compassion, and exceptional service.

As a Cook , you will prepare and assist with meals served throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner . You will follow established dietary guidelines, accommodate specific dietary restrictions, and provide appropriate meal alternatives for residents in our healthcare facility.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys preparing food for others, and genuinely wants to make a positive difference in the lives of older adults and individuals who may need assistance with daily care.

• Prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

• Assist with preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and other meals as needed.

• Follow residents' dietary requirements and established dietary procedures.

• Provide appropriate food alternatives when required.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.

• Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized food preparation environment.

• Communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, supervisors, and other members of the healthcare team.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and facility activities.

• Maintain a courteous, compassionate, and professional attitude.

• Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to make appropriate decisions.

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

• Previous cooking experience; institutional cooking experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic practices.

• A sincere desire to work with older adults and individuals with limited capacity for self-care.

• Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals with a wide range of personalities and maturity levels.

• Ability to communicate and understand information both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• One year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other healthcare setting is preferred but not required .

• Sanitation certificate required.

• Ability to prepare a variety of meals in large quantities.

• Knowledge of dietary procedures and food service practices.
