Maintenance Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for an opportunity in Lansing, Michigan.

Overview


The Maintenance Mechanic supports electrical and mechanical systems within the building, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repair tasks across various building systems and equipment. This role involves working third shift and contributing to maintaining a safe, efficient facility.


Responsibilities

• Maintain light bulbs and change ballasts
• Assist the operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment
• Perform general office maintenance including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing furniture
• Conduct minor plumbing repairs and grounds maintenance
• Complete tasks such as painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, cleaning, and general maintenance
• Move office furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed
• Assist in repair and maintenance of building equipment
• Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
• Attend safety training and maintain a clean, safe work environment
• Maintain records of work completed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
• Strong repairing and preventive maintenance skills
• Good communication and safety awareness

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC systems and controls
• Ability to perform carpentry, painting, and plumbing tasks
• Vendor management experience

The work shift is third shift, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 pm to 6:30 am.
