The mission is to perform research to develop new battery-related features, enhance existing features, and enable lower cost, more reliable, and longer-lived batteries.You'll Have Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related degree5+ years of experience with battery applications of physics-based modeling, including heat/mass transport, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, or chemical/mechanical degradation processes, or electrochemistry applications (Thesis and/or Dissertation allowed)Demonstrated experience developing computational strategies for solving large systems of coupled ordinary differential equations or partial differential equationsEven Better, you may have...PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related degree8+ years of experience with electrochemical battery modeling (Thesis and/or Dissertation allowed)Strong knowledge in one and good awareness of the other of the following competenciesBatteries and battery systems, especially of the type used in vehicle Electrification Control Systems, especially state estimation theoryBattery modeling and simulation tools, especially Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, PyBaMM, COMSOL, and AbaqusPost-processing battery cell and pack data using scripting, AVL Concerto, or similar programsAbility to anticipate research needs and initiate research projects Knowledge of model based development processes desired Awareness of automotive battery management hardware desiredExcellent data analysis and interpretation capabilities Excellent teamwork and communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
