RN Diagnostic Imaging

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic procedures such as CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine scans, X-ray, ultrasound, and interventional radiology. This role requires strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills to support patient care in a fast-paced imaging environment. The RN will utilize their medical/surgical and telemetry experience to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout diagnostic processes. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients during diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Monitor patient telemetry and vital signs before, during, and after imaging tests.
• Collaborate with radiology and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and provide post-procedure care as needed.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards, including wearing hospital-issued scrubs in procedural areas.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Document patient care activities and communicate changes in patient condition.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two years' experience in Diagnostic Imaging nursing.
• Telemetry experience required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in medical/surgical nursing.
• Experience in telemetry monitoring.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.

Special Considerations:

• Must wear hospital-issued and laundered scrub pants and tops in procedural areas as part of infection prevention measures.
• Work environment involves exposure to diagnostic imaging equipment and procedures.
• Occasional weekend shifts may be required.

Scheduling:

• 40-hour position with 8-hour shifts.
• Shifts include days and evenings.
• Occasional weekend work; no holiday or night shifts.
