Corporate Associate Counsel

$110,000 - $130,000 annually | Remote (California-based)

Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Location : Remote (California-based applicants only)

What You'll Be Doing

Typical responsibilities include:

• Negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and advising on a variety of contracts, including speaker agreements, vendor contracts, licenses, event agreements, partnership agreements, and other business contracts
• Providing legal advice and counsel to the Association, its subsidiaries, and affiliates on governance, compliance, nonprofit matters, intellectual property, corporate transactions, and general business issues
• Monitoring legal developments affecting trade associations and nonprofit organizations
• Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda and other written guidance
• Assisting with the development of educational and informational legal resources as needed
• Collaborating with stakeholders throughout the organization on a wide range of legal matters and initiatives

Work Arrangement & Travel

This position is currently remote. Applicants must reside in California.

Travel may include:

• Attendance at business meetings within California approximately three times per year
• Minimal additional travel as business needs require

Required Qualifications:

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Member of California State Bar

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a law firm or comparable in-house legal environment
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
• Experience with governance, compliance, non-profit issues or trade associations, intellectual property, and/or corporate transactions (e.g., investments and mergers and acquisitions)

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Comfortable using technology tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Slack, Westlaw, AI tools, and internet research resources

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation : $110,000 - $130,000 annually
