Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. In the absence of the pharmacy management, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager./ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pulliDemonstrates accuracy in dispensing of all medications. Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products accurately./liliIssues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law./liliMonitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose./liliReads, extracts, and interprets information in patient charts accurately./liliDetects and reports suspected adverse drug events accurately in a timely manner./liliSustains the formulary by minimizing non formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic substitution protocols, and promoting rational drug therapy selection./liliProvides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners. Suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed./liliProvides accurate drug information to professional staff./liliProvides drug information to patients and families when needed./liliDocuments all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely./liliParticipates in quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department if requested./liliReadily participates in orientation/training of new employees as directed./liliWorks independently with minimal supervision. Organizes and prioritizes work assignments. Ensures that pharmacy services are provided in a timely manner./liliCompletes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention./li/ulpstrongRequirements:/strong/pulliGraduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy, an MS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy./liliNYS Pharmacy license required./liliBasic and advanced computer skills; proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint./liliOutstanding oral and written communication skills. Able to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team./liliHealth system pharmacy experience preferred but not required./li/ulpstrongPosted Salary Range/strong/ppUSD $73.96 - USD $73.96 /Hr./ppThis range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
