Manager, Receiving & Inventory Control

The Position Manage Inventory Control and Receiving teams, including planning and import/export activities at the Novo Nordisk IFP Clayton facility with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, continuous improvement, and compliance with cGMPs. Key Responsibilities Manage receipt of all incoming materials to site Clayton and external warehouses. Schedule incoming shipments with couriers and transport companies. Maintain and develop department procedures and SOPs according to cGMP requirements. Develop and track internal metrics to measure department performance. Implement corporate initiatives for the Receiving area responsibilities. Manage monthly and annual inventory count life cycle, both on-site and off-site, to ensure accuracy and compliance. Improve customer feedback through frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders. Implement PS Production System elements through continuous improvements in accordance with the NNWay. Coach and mentor direct reports, including Receiving Operators and Inventory Control personnel, focusing on performance review and improvement. Support product transfers, new product entries, and product launches to meet market demand. Implement LEAN principles in receiving and inventory control areas, demonstrating a LEAN mindset. Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties. Perform other accountabilities as assigned. Physical Requirements May need to move equipment or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds and may be required to be on your feet for up to a 12‑hour shift. Corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 may be required, as well as color vision for certain roles. Work may be performed in loud environments with hearing protection. Development of People Supervise and ensure that personnel have individual development plans (IDP) with annual goals that align with business priorities. Conduct interim reviews to keep work focused and provide continuous feedback. Manage the application and communication of Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and the Novo Nordisk Way. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field from an accredited university (required). Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field from an accredited university with a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible warehouse/production support experience (considered). High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of nine (9) years of progressively responsible warehouse/production support experience (considered). Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible warehouse/production support experience (Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control) (required). Minimum of three (3) years of production/production support supervisory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry (required). Project management experience (preferred). Proven process improvement and problem‑solving skills (preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good presentation skills (required). Experience with ERP/MRP (SAP) systems (required). Green Belt certification (preferred). Kanban/LEAN manufacturing experience (preferred). cGMP and FDA regulations knowledge (preferred).
