Security Officer - Part Time

City/State: Nyack, NewYork | Department: Safety & Security | Shift: Day (3:30PM‑12AM) | Hours Vary | Pay: $22.00 hourly (subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other factors). Essential Functions Reports to Security Manager for overall job performance. Works with all members and staff from the hospital as well as the Security department. Assigned to fixed posts and hospital patrol. Covers vacant positions due to no‑shows, vacation, holiday, sick time and other emergencies that require immediate coverage. Courteous, pleasant, and helpful to the general public and hospital staff. Must be able to handle some tasks not necessarily security related. Conducts training exercises for fire drills, code silver drills, code pink and code gray alarms. Assures compliance with all hospital and security department policies and procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 1‑3 years of experience in a hospital setting as a security guard. Prior experience in law enforcement, firefighting, or a health‑care security role preferred. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to relate well to all types of people; act in a positive and supportive manner. Flexible and able to react under unusual circumstances that may alter normal routines. Good judgment and common sense. Medium proficiency in first aid and CPR; certified CPR and First Aid required.
