Hours: 2:30 or 2:45 p.m. to 5:00, 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. Opportunities for more hours during Early Release Days, No School Days and Vacations. Hours vary. Candidates must be available 3-5 days/week. Minimum Age: 18 years old. Preference given to those with prior experience working with children. Starting Rate of pay: $17 to $24 per Hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities: Planning and facilitating play-based activities in arts, sciences, physical fitness, building, theater, music, literature, and cultural ventures. Encouraging and engaging all children in planning and participating in activities. Maintaining safety protocols, keeping areas and supplies clean and tidy. Promoting school and program safety and behavior protocols consistently. Participating in activities with children and encouraging them to try something new. Candidate Qualifications: Enjoy working with children. Show warmth, caring and respect for all children. Be reliable and demonstrate responsible professional and personal habits. Be positive, happy, enthusiastic and energetic. Be a good role model. Have strong classroom management skills and be comfortable leading a group of 6–10 children. Be capable of taking initiative, adaptable to teamwork, and accepting direction. Respond well to challenges with perseverance, flexibility and cooperation. Position Type Part‑time. The Childcare Center, for toddlers and young children, has a classroom designed for the age group. The school‑age programs each have their own classrooms and offer an educational enrichment experience to those needing supervised care when school is not in session. The programs take place the entire school year with a separate summer program.
