Forklift OperatorThe Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished products throughout the warehouse and production facility. This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are delivered accurately, inventory is maintained, and all food safety and quality standards are followed.Essential ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, and store materials.Move raw materials to production lines and relocate finished goods to warehouse storage.Load and unload trailers while following established safety procedures.Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections and report any mechanical issues.Maintain accurate inventory through scanning, documentation, and physical counts.Assist with picking, staging, wrapping, labeling, and other warehouse duties as needed.Follow FEFO (First Expired, First Out) inventory practices and use RF scanners when applicable.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Adhere to GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and food safety requirements.Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, and safety concerns to management.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous forklift experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment required.Food manufacturing experience is preferred.Ability to obtain forklift certification if not already certified.Basic computer and inventory tracking skills.Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety procedures.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.Physical RequirementsFrequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, and reach throughout the shift.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Work around forklifts, manufacturing equipment, and warehouse traffic.Work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and production environments.Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
