About the Role:

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing environment by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods in compliance with safety standards. The operator will collaborate closely with warehouse and production teams to maintain an organized and productive workflow, supporting timely order fulfillment and inventory management. Attention to detail and adherence to operational protocols are essential to prevent damage to products and equipment. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator contributes to the overall efficiency and safety of the manufacturing process by managing material flow with precision and care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid forklift operator certification or license in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret RF scanner instructions and order picking lists.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating multiple types of forklifts such as stand-up forklifts.
• Familiarity with general warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of electric pallet jack operation and maintenance.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts including stand-up forklifts, clamp trucks, and electric pallet jacks to move materials within the warehouse and production areas.
• Load and unload goods from trucks, storage racks, and production lines while ensuring product integrity and safety.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners and pallet jacks to accurately fulfill customer and production orders.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts and related equipment to ensure operational safety and reliability.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following warehouse safety protocols and reporting any hazards or equipment malfunctions.

Skills:

The required skills such as forklift operation, electric pallet jack handling, and order picking with RF scanners are utilized daily to ensure materials are moved safely and efficiently within the warehouse. Proficiency with stand-up forklifts and clamp trucks allows the operator to handle a variety of load types and sizes, adapting to different operational needs. General warehouse knowledge supports the operator in maintaining organized storage and accurate inventory tracking. The ability to operate pallet jacks and use RF scanners enhances order accuracy and speeds up the fulfillment process. Preferred skills like experience in manufacturing environments and strong communication further enable the operator to collaborate effectively and contribute to continuous workflow improvements.
