Job Title Steward / Dishwasher – Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center (Immediate opening) Compensation Rate: $25 per hour. Union Condition Employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11. A condition of employment is union membership. Responsibilities Keep all dishes, small wares, and utensils cleaned. Organize and maintain proper inventory of small wares, utensils, and cleaning supplies and equipment; reorder when necessary. Clean and properly maintain working areas and equipment in the kitchen. Organize and properly store perishables for cooks and receiving and issuing clerks. Follow all rules and regulations of SMG Food & Beverage. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Must be able to lift, move, and carry at least 25 pounds. Must have a California Food Handler's Card/Certification. Must be able to work a flexible shift including nights, weekends, and overtime. Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or GED. Current ServeSafe certification. Ability to take directions and effectively perform work. Physical Demands Regularly required to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear. May work inside or outside the building as needed. Requires stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs. No substantial exposure to adverse conditions other than loud sound.
