Transportation Aide

Job TitleTo assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.Essential FunctionsEssential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion.Provides written records of violations of the student code to the Director of Transportation.Collects and turns over to the school secretary those personal items left on bus by students.Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required, or equivalent life experience required.Ability to lift average weights, bend, stoop, reach, pull and climb.Specialized skills in first aid and CPR preferred.Ability to obtain appropriate licensing to operate a vehicle in Arizona.Ability to work harmoniously with staff, students and community members.Reports ToDirector of TransportationTerms of EmploymentWork year, salary and benefits as established by the Board.184 days37.5 hours/week
