This employee will be expected to meet productivity, safety and quality standards. This employee reports to the shop Foreman and works under their general supervision. The supervisor provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities. The employee is accountable for work being technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures.QualificationsMust be able to pass a TIG 6G stainless steel pipe weld test.Minimum Qualification H.S DiplomaBroad knowledge and experience working in industrial petro/chemical and commercial construction environmentsAbility to pass weld tests in accordance with ASME Section IXAt least five to eight (s) experience working in pipe welding fabrication or completion of a pipe welding apprenticeship.Mechanical aptitudeAble to operate hand and power tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threader, tube-benders, drill presses, soldering and brazing equipment and weldersGeneral safety awarenessAbility to read blueprints and schematicsAble to work alone or as part of a teamAble to follow directions, instructions and proceduresGood communication skillsReasoning and problem solving skills
