Position: Medical Assistant

Location: Lansing

Employment Types: Full-time

Responsibilities:

As a Medical Assistant at UM Health-Sparrow, you'll be at the forefront of providing efficient and compassionate patient care. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs assessment and documentation of chief complaints.
• Clinical Procedures: Conduct laboratory and diagnostic tests, administer medications orally or by injection, and ensure timely processing of prescriptions.
• Communication and Coordination: Handle telephone calls, triage inquiries, schedule tests and referrals, and provide appropriate patient and family education.
• Quality Improvement: Collaborate on enhancing care quality, maintaining practice standards, and engaging in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Certification: MA Certification preferred.
• Experience: Recent clinical experience within the last 5 years, or completion of a medical assistant program within the last two years. Previous experience in a medical office setting is advantageous.
• Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of a medical assistant program.
• Skills: Proficiency in age-specific care, strong team player mindset, and familiarity with EMR systems.
