Job Summary The SEO Director leads Lokal Media House's search engine optimization practice. You will set the SEO vision for our home services client base, oversee technical, content, and local SEO across all accounts, and lead a growing team of SEO Strategists. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on scalable, AI-integrated strategies that win in competitive local markets. Job Responsibilities SEO Strategy: Define the SEO strategy for each client and oversee planning, execution, and refinement of on-site and off-site tactics. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the SEO team, set performance benchmarks, enforce best practices, and build a culture of accountability. Technical SEO and Audits: Run comprehensive audits and drive fixes for site architecture, page speed, Core Web Vitals, schema, and crawlability. Content Strategy: Guide keyword research, content optimization, metadata, and scalable link building and content programs. Local SEO: Own local strategy, including Google Business Profile, citation management, hyperlocal content, and multi-location SEO. AI-Powered SEO: Use AI tools and automation for content, keyword research, internal linking, and analysis within search engine policies. AI Search Readiness: Track and test AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, and other generative platforms, and build new success metrics for AI-driven search. Performance and Analytics: Report on traffic, rankings, CTR, and conversions using GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and similar tools. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Embed SEO into website builds, content, and campaign planning across the agency. Job Qualifications 8 to 12+ years of hands-on SEO experience leading technical, content, and local SEO strategy. Several years in a leadership or director-level role managing SEO teams across multiple clients or large sites. Deep expertise in technical, content, off-page, and local SEO, including multi-location. Experience using AI in SEO workflows such as content scaling, keyword clustering, intent analysis, and automated internal linking. Expert proficiency in GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or similar. Strong project management skills across content, development, and creative teams. Confident communicator who can explain strategy and results to clients and internal teams. Proven business impact through organic growth: rankings, traffic, and conversion lift. Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media, computer science, or related field preferred. SEO or Google Analytics certifications a plus.
