Senior Tax Accountant

An organization is seeking a Senior Tax & Accounting Associate to support a portfolio of small to mid-sized business clients through a blend of tax compliance, bookkeeping, and client advisory services. This role offers direct client responsibility and combines hands‑on accounting work with tax preparation and planning support. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, client-focused, and comfortable managing multiple engagements in a collaborative, hybrid environment. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of business clients, including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate and GAAP-aligned financial records Prepare and review client financial statements and supporting schedules on a recurring basis Support client budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial performance analysis Prepare business tax returns for a variety of entity types, including corporate and partnership filings, as well as selected individual returns for business owners Coordinate and file multi-state payroll and sales tax filings as required Respond to federal and state tax notices and assist with resolution efforts Support tax planning discussions and compliance strategy development for clients Maintain accurate client records using accounting and tax preparation systems Utilize accounting and tax software platforms to manage workflows and ensure timely deliverables Identify and implement opportunities to improve client reporting, workflow efficiency, and process consistency Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction Qualifications Public accounting experience supporting small to mid-sized business clients Strong knowledge of corporate and partnership tax compliance Hands‑on experience with full-cycle bookkeeping and financial statement preparation Familiarity with multi‑state tax filings preferred Experience with accounting and tax software platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Lacerte, or similar) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills with a strong client‑service orientation Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team‑oriented environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
