Staff Accountant Full Time North Sioux City, SD, US Title: Staff Accountant Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Location: North Sioux City, SD Job Description : The Staff Accountant supports the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a variety of accounting duties, including maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close. The Staff Accountant collects statistical data, assists with the analysis of this data, and recommends action to the CFO based on this information. Required Technical Skills : The Staff Accountant should be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Also, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional is required. Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM is a plus. Required Education/Experience : The Staff Accountant should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting related role. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar business-related field with an emphasis on accounting is required. Requirements Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality. Able to communicate, coordinate, and work effectively with coworkers. Very organized, detail-oriented worker. Demonstrate excellent time management skills. Very good written and verbal communication skills. Able to prepare and analyze financial reports and statistical data. Strong accounting-based background and knowledge of corporate accounting policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all corporate financial data. Primary Responsibilities Collect statistical data from accounting software. Summarize, interpret, and present data into report format. Prepare monthly financial reports in support of the CFO and other senior management. Prepare and analyze account reconciliations. Prepare monthly reports detailing expenses by cost center. Complete month-end closing tasks. Perform additional accounting functions as requested by the CFO. Answer and explain accounting procedural questions from other departments.
