Registered Respiratory Therapists are integral members of the critical care team, pulmonary diagnostic and general clinical practice teams. This position specifically supports the Pulmonary Diagnostic Program and associated work with ambulatory and inpatient populations related to diagnostic testing. Responsibilities include: Perform pulmonary function procedures including spirometry, lung volume determination, diffusion capacity, methacholine challenge, and arterial blood gas puncture Assist in monitoring pulmonary function equipment, conduct calibration and quality control checks according to standards, and arrange for maintenance/repair as required Support anesthetist with airway management during ECT Provide clinical support and instruction of Conestoga College Respiratory Student Document and maintain accurate patient records and observations The physical demands of the job may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting. This position contributes to ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Must be available to work 12 hour days. Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change. Skills and Qualifications Must be a member in good standing of the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario Current membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario Current BCLS certificate required ACLS certificate preferred 1-2 years’ experience in all aspects of pulmonary function testing is required Extremely motivated individual with the ability to work independently and in a team environment Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet requirements Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required Certner experience preferred COVID‑19 Vaccination Policy CMH requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID‑19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
