Seasonal Agricultural Worker The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences is seeking a Seasonal Agricultural Worker for its Horticultural Research Farm II (turfgrass) to assist with maintenance, irrigation, equipment repair, and field work. Responsibilities Assist with maintenance of landscaping and non-research areas of the farm. Perform irrigation system maintenance, including winterization and spring start-up. Assist with maintenance and repair of the farm’s equipment. Perform field work including mowing, leaf cleanup, soil sampling, and preparation of fields for the growing season. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience High school or vocational school education, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Some experience in turf and/or equipment maintenance. Availability for weekend work. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in hot, humid, cold, or dusty conditions and/or be exposed to pollen or poison ivy. Willingness to work in an environment where pesticides are applied. Strict adherence to safety protocols, compliance with federal and state regulations, and correct use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
