Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mobile Ultrasound Sonographer specializing in General and Vascular Ultrasound to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients in nursing homes, long-term care facilities, residential care settings, correctional facilities, and other designated locations.

This role involves traveling to patient locations using a company-provided vehicle, performing physician-ordered ultrasound examinations with portable equipment, and transmitting diagnostic images electronically to radiologists for interpretation.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, professional, and comfortable working independently with minimal direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform General and Vascular ultrasound examinations using portable sonographic equipment.
• Travel to assigned facilities and provide mobile diagnostic imaging services.
• Review physician orders and verify examination details against the patient's medical chart before performing procedures.
• Confirm patient identity using two approved patient identifiers.
• Obtain technically competent, clinically diagnostic ultrasound images.
• Process and electronically transmit images to radiologists for interpretation.
• Complete and submit examination documentation and billing paperwork daily according to established procedures.
• Coordinate with dispatch, facility staff, radiologists, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor dispatch communications, voicemail, and case assignments throughout the shift.
• Respond to urgent communications within 15 minutes.
• Maintain and safeguard company-provided ultrasound equipment, mobile devices, and other assigned supplies.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Follow infection control procedures, patient safety standards, and professional ethical guidelines.
• Complete required health screenings, TB testing, and annual infection control training.
• Participate in meetings and assist with training other technologists as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with company policies, including drug-free workplace and background reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program.
• Current registration with ARDMS or CCI for Vascular Ultrasound .
• Competency in both General and Vascular Ultrasound modalities.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to travel independently to assigned patient care facilities.
• Basic smartphone and computer skills, including scanning, printing, and emailing documents.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Successful completion of required background checks and drug screening.
• Compliance with applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements or an approved exemption.

Important: Limited ultrasound licenses are not accepted. Candidates must hold the required ARDMS or CCI credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to provide current certification, registry, and educational documentation upon request.
• Experience performing mobile ultrasound examinations in nursing homes, long-term care facilities, or other post-acute care settings.
• Familiarity with local geography, travel routes, and facility locations.
• Strong knowledge of ultrasound procedures, patient identification, infection control, and clinical documentation.

Work Environment and Travel

• Mobile position requiring travel between multiple healthcare facilities.
• Work performed primarily in nursing homes, residential care facilities, correctional facilities, and other assigned locations.
• Candidates must be comfortable managing daily assignments and working independently.
• A company vehicle is provided for work-related travel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift ultrasound equipment weighing approximately 18–20 pounds into and out of a vehicle.
• Ability to transport equipment using a wheeled cart for distances of up to 250 feet.
• Ability to perform ultrasound examinations in various patient care environments.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Pay: $35.00–$40.00, depending on experience.
