A U.S.-based retention marketing agency and Klaviyo Platinum Partner serving DTC e-commerce brands, specializing in email and SMS strategy, lifecycle automation, and loyalty programs. The agency operates as a full-service, remote-first partner for high-growth, household-name consumer brands, leveraging AI-driven workflows to compound revenue month over month. We are looking for a Creative Director to serve as the most senior creative in the agency, operating as a player-coach who leads the copywriting and design departments as one unified team while writing copy for a focused set of two to three of their own accounts. You will own the creative quality bar on every email that ships, run the feedback loops that raise team performance, and manage roughly six creatives across both disciplines. Your center of gravity is copy, conversion thinking, and leadership, backed by strong design judgment developed in partnership with a senior design lead who anchors day-to-day design craft. You will also shape how the creative team uses AI across the workflow, with real input into hiring, systems, and standards as the agency scales. PTO 100% remote Own the creative quality bar across copy and design on every deliverable that ships, running creative QA and feedback loops to reduce internal revision rounds. Lead, coach, and develop the copywriting and design teams as one creative unit, managing roughly six creatives across both disciplines. Write high-converting campaign and flow copy for a focused set of two to three client accounts, emulating distinct brand voices with precision. Partner with the senior design lead to keep copy and design working as one deliverable, translating retention strategy into creative that moves revenue. Build and enforce copy systems, brand voice documentation, and creative SOPs across the department. Shape how the creative team uses AI across the creative workflow, from ideation through execution. Own hiring, client assignments, and performance management across both departments, and develop a senior copywriter bench so quality does not depend on one person. Run department cadences and report on creative KPIs to leadership. Proven experience as a copywriter with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to sell in a brand's voice. Experience leading creatives in an agency setting, ideally in email, retention, or DTC e-commerce. Strong design judgment, able to identify why a layout is not converting and communicate that clearly to a designer, even without hands-on design execution. Deep familiarity with lifecycle email and SMS, including welcome flows, winback sequences, and post-purchase sequences. Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools in a creative workflow. Exceptional written and verbal English, native or near-native professional fluency, to present creative directly to U.S. clients. Experience with or ability to quickly ramp up on Klaviyo, Figma, Slack, ClickUp, and Loom.
