Associate Attorney

Boutique litigation law firm is seeking a full-time litigation associate eager to enter the firm on the ground floor of a growing practice. Ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited law school and will have 2-4 years of experience in general civil litigation, entertainment litigation, intellectual property law/litigation, employment litigation, and/or personal injury litigation. The attorney will be responsible for assisting with existing cases being handled by the firm, from developing strategy to handling discovery, engaging in motion practice, trial preparation, and trial along with one of the firm’s Partners primarily. Compensation will include a competitive base salary and discretionary profit-sharing bonus. Opportunity for growth and future partnership. The ideal candidate would be able to work individually but also within a group. Responsibilities Legal research and writing for lawsuits pending in State and Federal courts. Meet trial deadlines, make court appearances, and manage existing cases being handled by the firm, from developing strategy to handling discovery, engaging in motion practice, trial preparation, and trial along with the firm’s Partners. 1,800 billable hours per year, recorded promptly. Qualifications J.D. from accredited law school. Must have 2-4 years’ experience in different aspects of litigation, such as discovery, pleadings, motion practice and trial preparation. Experience in both State and Federal courts is preferred. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Adept at conducting research and proficiency with standard legal software, drafting motions and pleadings, drafting and responding to discovery, and preparing cases for trial.
