Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of truck equipment, including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and generate and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment. Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections. Work effectively with clients and customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations. Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, and lift/jacks. Document all work according to company standards, uploading pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on repair orders (RO) via our iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner. Work independently, managing own daily schedule. Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or close to most standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for repair estimate approvals, purchase order numbers, and RO findings notes. Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Requirements High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field. Alternatively, a degree/certification beyond a HS diploma with 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months. Must successfully complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. Current valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining may substitute for a DOT physical; otherwise a DOT physical is required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old. Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File. Compensation Hourly pay rate: $35.48 – $53.27. Base rate may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs. Paid Time Off.
