Job Description
This role combines mechanical assembly, wire and cable harnessing, and hands-on quality inspection and testing within a highly structured manufacturing execution environment. You will build electro-mechanical subassemblies, install firmware, perform functional testing, and document each step electronically to maintain accurate device history records. The position requires strong computer proficiency, meticulous attention to work instructions, and a collaborative mindset in a close-knit, fast-paced team.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electro-mechanical subassemblies by following detailed work instructions within the manufacturing execution system (MES).
- Open and navigate work instructions in the MES (such as 42Q), follow each step precisely, and record completion of every manufacturing task.
- Perform mechanical assembly using hand and small power tools, including screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, torque wrenches, needle nose pliers, and other appropriate tools.
- Connect wires, harnesses, and cables to modules and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) by hand, ensuring correct routing, termination, and secure connections.
- Install firmware on PCBAs by opening the appropriate program on a laptop, running scripts, and verifying successful firmware uploads.
- Conduct functional testing of devices and subassemblies by selecting the correct test area, entering and running test codes, and monitoring results through the test software.
- Attach cables to subassemblies, load test programs, and run scripts to validate performance and functionality according to defined procedures.
- Document every step of the manufacturing and testing process in the MES to create a complete and accurate electronic device history record.
- Verify specific areas of the device by selecting them in the software, entering generated verification numbers, and interpreting pass/fail results.
- Troubleshoot failures and defects by identifying root causes, making corrections, and re-running tests until the device meets all requirements.
- Follow all build plans and work instructions without deviation, ensuring consistent quality and compliance with process standards.
- Participate in daily 7:00 AM stand-up meetings to receive work assignments, discuss progress, and align with team goals.
- technicians and team members, especially during training and cross-training in different areas.
- Communicate clearly with team members and leaders when issues arise, describing troubleshooting steps and engaging others as needed.
- Adhere to ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols and wear required lab coats and safety glasses while working in the lab environment.
Essential Skills

- Hands-on mechanical assembly skills using screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, torque wrenches, needle nose pliers, and small power tools.
- Demonstrated experience in wiring, wire harness assembly, and cable connection for modules and PCBAs.
- Strong troubleshooting experience in previous roles, including the ability to describe troubleshooting processes, steps taken, and involvement with team leaders.
- Experience with testing and functional verification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices.
- Ability to use an oscilloscope and basic electronics tools for testing and troubleshooting.
- High level of computer proficiency, including regular use of laptops, software applications, and data entry.
- Ability to use Outlook and Microsoft Teams daily for communication and coordination.
- Experience working with a manufacturing execution system (MES), such as 42Q, to track work orders and document production steps.
- Ability to follow detailed electronic work instructions and navigate multiple documents and screens within software programs.
- Strong attention to detail and strict adherence to build plans and standardized work instructions with no deviations.
- Team player mindset with the ability to work closely with others in a tight, collaborative environment.
- team members.
- Comfort working in an ESD-controlled environment while following lab safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing or repair environment.
- in electronics, including familiarity with PCBAs and electronic components.
- Experience documenting work in electronic systems and maintaining device history records.
- Exposure to quality inspection and verification processes in a production setting.
- Ability to adapt to different work areas after initial training and contribute across multiple subassembly lines.
- Comfort working in a start-up environment with evolving processes and opportunities for growth.
- Willingness to receive coaching, shadow technicians, and continuously develop technical skills.
Why Work Here?
You will join a growing start-up environment with a small, close-knit team that offers significant opportunities for professional growth and development. The organization emphasizes collaboration, exposure to technicians and supervisors, and a strong focus on learning through hands-on experience and mentorship. You can take advantage of on-site amenities such as a gym, basketball court, discounted lunches at the food court, and employee resource group programs that support community and engagement. Lab coats and safety glasses are provided and must be worn as part of the standard dress code. The team operates in a close, collaborative setting where everyone works together in a tight space to accomplish build plans and shared goals. The work schedule runs Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a required 7:00 AM stand-up meeting each day to receive assignments and align on priorities. New hires spend approximately two months in training, working side by side with a technician who provides coaching and guidance.
