Registered Nurse ICU

Job Summary:

Provide specialized critical care to ICU patients in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), ensuring high-quality patient management and adherence to clinical protocols. This role requires a skilled RN with ICU experience to support a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill surgical and oncology patients on the SICU unit.
  
  
• 
  Perform advanced procedures including central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter insertions, and cardioversions.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and operate ICU equipment such as ventilators, GE Cardiac Output monitors, and NXStage systems to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately within Meditech electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Follow all unit-specific policies, including infection control, dress code, and floating procedures.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active RN Texas license; temporary licenses not accepted.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in a surgical or oncology setting.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency with ICU equipment and procedures, such as ventilators and CRRT.
  
  
• 
  Be BLS and ACLS certified; CCRN preferred.
  
  
• 
  Have excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
