Job Description
Respiratory Therapist - RRT

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and certifications to provide exceptional care within a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy.
Experience in Emergency Room (ER), Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg), and ICU/Stepdown settings.
Proficiency in Respiratory Care procedures, including but not limited to:
- Airway management
- Medication administration
- Ventilator management
- ABG sampling
- Oxygen therapy
- Suctioning techniques
- Pulmonary toileting
- Nebulization therapy
- BiPAP and CPAP management
- Vest therapy and Meta-neb procedures
- Heated high-flow therapy
EPIC Experience is mandatory.
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Valid North Carolina license and RRT credentials.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with bronchoscopes.
Certification in NRP is a plus.
Note: The unit does not accept CRT credentials.

Job Details:

Patient Ratios: 35-45 patients per day.
Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15). Options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
RTO: A maximum of 7 days is allowed for requests.
Call Requirement: On-call may be needed based on workload.
Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe.

Patient Population:

The Respiratory Care department serves a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. Therapists will collaborate on Med/Surg and ICU step-down units and may occasionally provide care in the Emergency Department.

Special Equipment:

Servo I and Servo U ventilators
Hamilton T1 and V60 ventilators
Night-time VPAP devices
Omni-labs and V30s
ABL90 ABG machine

Unit Systems:

All Respiratory Therapists are required to have experience with EPIC systems.

Unit Orientation:

Orientation will be conducted over several days, transitioning from day shifts (7a - 7p) to night shifts (7p - 7a).

Uniform Requirements:

All staff are required to wear black scrubs.
