Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Provides routine and complex care. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with nursing scope and standards of practice, provides care utilizing the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
