ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks a Children & Youth Services Specialist to support immigrant and refugee youth and their families by facilitating culturally responsive, trauma-informed services that promote academic success, social connection, and long-term integration.

this is a hybrid role- 4 days in office; 1 work from home

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• • Facilitate school enrollment, orientation, and immunization support for newcomer children. • Develop and manage Personal Development Plans for youth ages 15–24. • Coordinate tutoring, ESL support, and after-school or summer program referrals. • Recruit, train, and support mentors for academic, social, and career development. • Connect youth to career readiness, financial literacy, and vocational training. • Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed case management to youth and families. • Conduct routine check-ins and maintain accurate records in Dynamics CRM. • Support interpreter-facilitated communication between parents and school staff. • Promote parent engagement through culturally appropriate education and resources. • Collaborate with schools, after-school programs, and community service providers. • Collect and report program data in alignment with grant (RSIG/YM) requirements. • Track and evaluate progress toward outcome goals and adjust supports accordingly. SUPERVISORY POSITIONS: This role does not supervise staff but may oversee volunteers or mentors. All staff at World Relief are considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead in a manner consistent with our Christian values, including praying with others, leading devotionals, and creating a spiritually supportive work environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Mature and personal Christian faith
• Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
• Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
• Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
• Valid drivers license, access to reliable vehicle and ability to pass MVR standards 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or a related field required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with immigrant/refugee children and families
• Experience with case management, youth programming, or mentorship coordination
• Proficiency in using CRM or case management systems (e.g., Dynamics CRM

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Deep understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills 
• Familiarity with U.S. public school systems and newcomer family experiences 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when needed PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related field 
• Bilingual in a relevant language such as Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, or Spanish 
• Prior experience working within a faith-based nonprofit or education system
• Knowledge of relevant federal and local immigration or education policies
