Our programs equip clients with essential skills and experiences today so that they are empowered to take the next step tomorrow.Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP): Funded through the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 to 24 with paid, summer work experience and project-based learning opportunities for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants work in entry-level positions across a variety of sectors and industries, and are provided with workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, continuing education and other life skills.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the supervision of the Program Director, the full-time seasonal Facilitator will:Design and facilitate interactive project-based learning workshops related to positive youth development, such as life skills, leadership skills, work readiness, financial literacy and higher education and healthy livingFacilitate workshops both in-person and virtually.Coordinate the scheduling of guest speakers, community service opportunitiesMaintain participants’ attendance and progressComplete data entry weekly and submit reports as neededAttend meetings and professional development training as required by CPC and fundersFulfill other related duties as outlined by the Program DirectorsQUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:College student majoring in education or social science preferred, but not requiredPrior experience working with high school youth in a classroom setting; knowledge of teen and immigrant issues helpfulSkills and Competencies:Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.Knowledge of MS office applications and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.Bilingual; fluency in English and any of the following languages Arabic/Chinese/Spanish.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW$22.00 - $27.00 per hour; up to 35 hours per week with through August 21, 2026CPC offers eligible temporary staff members mandatory benefits, including paid New York State sick timeHOW TO APPLYInterested individuals should submit their resume, along with a cover letter addressed to Julio Peña III, when applying online via CPC’s website: or selected online job boards.
