About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years License: Must have valid state license in hand at time of submission. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: 22 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred. Epic experience required. Previous travel experience preferred. Description: This position requires working weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays are included in the schedule. The nurse will be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels. The estimated patient ratios are 1:1 to 2:2. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, ventilators, Swans, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines. Responsibilities include caring for patients with conditions such as low cardiac output syndrome, acute respiratory distress, renal impairment, and unstable dysrhythmias. Special procedures include post-cardiac surgery care and management of patients on ECMO. Familiarity with special equipment such as total artificial heart, ventricular assist devices, and hemodynamic monitoring systems is necessary. The position involves managing and administering emergency medications and blood products. Continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips are also required. Candidates must provide two professional references, with at least one reference from a manager or someone in a formal leadership capacity. Travelers must comply with credentialing requirements and complete necessary screening urgently.
