Medical Front Desk Receptionist

Location: Kansas City, MO (Primary site with travel to nearby clinics) Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Contract-to-Hire Opportunity Overview Our client is seeking a reliable and patient-focused Front Desk Coordinator to join their team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering a positive patient experience while supporting daily clinic operations. Key Responsibilities Daily Duties Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a timely and professional manner Page physicians for inpatient hospital calls Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information Verify insurance coverage and collect copayments or outstanding balances Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars Scan and upload insurance cards, IDs, and documentation into EHR Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records Administrative Support Prepare and update new patient packets Assist with scanning, document indexing, and patient callbacks Process end-of-day reconciliation and prepare next-day schedules Coordinate with patient advocacy and clinical teams on new patient processes Participate in team meetings and support office workflow improvements Travel Requirements Travel to other clinic locations 2–3 times per month (mileage reimbursed) Additional locations include: Independence, Lee’s Summit, Shawnee Mission, and Harrisonville Required Qualifications Strong communication and customer service skills High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment Dependable and flexible with the ability to work independently Comfortable floating between clinic locations as needed Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Experience with insurance verification and basic billing processes What We Offer Opportunity to make a direct impact on patient experience Variety in responsibilities across front desk and administrative functions Supportive team environment with autonomy in your role Competitive benefits upon permanent hire Contract-to-hire pathway (approx. 12 weeks, with potential for full-time conversion) Proof of education required prior to submission Drug screening required (includes marijuana; no medical exceptions) Interview process includes onsite panel and shadowing #J-18808-Ljbffr
