About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele experience preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation Description: RN - MedSurg/Tele position available. Facility details include 109 licensed beds. No trauma designation. Not a teaching hospital; no residents or students. Advanced primary stroke center. Unit information includes 27 beds with an average census of 20. Patient types include stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and GI bleed. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6, acuity dependent, with possible surge staffing increasing ratios to 1:7-8. CNA support is provided in the department. CNA duties may include inserting foleys and removing IVs if certified. Additional CNA responsibilities include vitals and activities of daily living. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring and tech support are provided. Technology includes electronic medical records, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice. Unit culture is positive and team-driven.
