Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Project Manager II in Los Angeles, CA.Duties and Skills:Manages one or more moderately complex project, involving a combination of the following:Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR,Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR,Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.May supervise: senior level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representativesPossess outstanding verbal and written communication skillsIndividuals must be able to manage multiple tasks, exhibit strong organizational skills, have a good understanding of design and constructionKnowledge of construction management proceduresKnowledge of construction industry practicesSkilled at use of construction management software and programsKnowledgeable in the process of invoicing and billing procedures Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs Act as Owners Authorized Representative (OAR)Design management experience managing all phases of design:Provide leadership to architects, engineer and design team consultantsDesign phase cost, budget, and schedule control and coordination, and reporting to the ClientPre-design experience to assist in developing overall project schedule and project budget inclusive of construction cost and soft costUser group and stakeholder coordination and managementCoordination of all jurisdictional approvals and permittingConstruction logistics planning, bidding, construction contract review/ coordination, pre-qualification processes Coordinates program activities with other Client organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Design and A/E Technical Support, Asset Management Branch, Facilities Contract Administration, Inspection Unit, Maintenance and Operations and other stakeholdersAssists Facilities management staff with bid and contract planningAssesses bid specifications according to Client needs and probability of completion under stated timelineReviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for Architects and other project related consultants Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reportingReviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality controlResolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreementsReviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projectsQualificationsMinimum Experience:BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Experience:Five years of full time paid-professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that includes the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activitiesExperience working with the Division of the State Architect (DSA)Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) Experience with construction managementProgressive design buildManage projects $10M and above,Experience coordinating local worker PLAs, prevailing wage / DIR experience, public works projectsHousing or Workforce Housing project experienceLive near PasadenaGraduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field Additional courses in business administration, public relations, accounting, finance, personnel management, educational facilities planning, and/or communication are preferred Preferred Licenses and Certificates: A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) LEED Professional AccreditationDBIA certificationAdditional InformationSponsorship is not available.Relocation is not available.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
