This Opportunity WSP is searching for a Full‑Time Consultant – Fire and Life Safety Engineering for our Houston, TX office. This dynamic and experienced FPE will play a crucial role within our group. Responsibilities Technical Excellence Develop the design of state‑of‑the‑art fire protection and life safety systems. Provide expert technical guidance and solutions to ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulations. Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and technological advancements. Maintain knowledge of building and fire codes, fire alarm and sprinkler design, and the industry standard of care. Building Code Consulting Provide building‑code consulting, guiding clients and project teams to ensure compliance. Stay current with evolving building codes and contribute to company‑wide strategies. Experience with a wide range of complex projects and occupancy types. Project Excellence Collaborate with project managers and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality fire protection and life safety solutions. Review and approve project designs, calculations, and documentation. Maintain a deep understanding of best practices, codes, regulations, and emerging trends. Ensure practice meets and exceeds the standard of care for all projects. Required Qualifications Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering. Professional Engineering (PE) license. 3–5 years of experience in the fire protection and life safety industry. Deep understanding of building and fire codes, standards, and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to various schedules and ability to prioritize under pressure. Occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD. Experience in fire protection engineering design applications. Compensation Expected salary: $85,200 – $117,000 (all locations). Compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, geographic location, and internal equity.
