Clinical Development Associate Medical Director-Nephrology

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Clinical Development Associate Medical Director to lead clinical trial strategy, design, and execution in nephrology. This role requires medical oversight of study safety, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional collaboration while serving as the primary internal medical monitor.

Responsibilities

• Develop study protocols, investigator brochures, and clinical development plans with cross-functional teams
• Serve as primary medical monitor for assigned trials, overseeing subject safety and scientific integrity
• Prepare and contribute to regulatory submissions including INDs, CTAs, safety reports, and responses to authorities
• Provide scientific input to clinical documents, analysis plans, and informed consent forms
• Liaise between clinical development and internal departments; represent Vertex to external medical personnel

Requirements

• MD, DO, or equivalent non-US medical degree
• 8 years of basic or clinical research experience in academic or industry setting
• Board certification or eligibility in relevant medical specialty
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with GCP, biostatistics, pharmacology, and clinical study design
• Global clinical research experience and regulatory authority interactions preferred

Compensation: $204,000 - $306,000 base
