Urgent Care Registered Nurse

Location: Kearney, MO 64060
Pay Rate: $58.80/hour
Schedule: 3 ten-hour shifts Monday–Friday, plus both weekend days every other weekend
Setting: On-site, patient-facing

Urgent Care Registered Nurse Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. The RN will assess patients, administer medications and treatments, perform clinical testing, document patient information, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.

Urgent Care Registered Nurse chedule

• Three 10-hour shifts Monday–Friday
• Both Saturday and Sunday every other weekend
• Schedule is created in 6-week blocks
• Some major holiday coverage is required
• Initial 3 weeks of training/orientation are required
• Candidates must be available to complete the initial training without planned time off that would interfere with training

Urgent Care Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and perform routine clinical assessments
• Administer oral, injectable, intravenous, and topical medications
• Administer vaccines and perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing
• Monitor vital signs and identify abnormalities
• Evaluate patient conditions and monitor/document treatment responses
• Review medications for potential side effects and drug interactions
• Perform mental health screenings, including depression and mood assessments
• Document patient medical history, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient education related to medications, self-care, and disease management
• Connect patients with appropriate healthcare and community resources
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment

Urgent Care RN Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice and in good standing
• Compact licenses must be issued in the candidate's primary state of residence
• No current or prior disciplinary actions on the RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 1 year of related healthcare experience
• Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room
• Experience with:
• • Phlebotomy
  • Vaccine administration
  • Point-of-care testing
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Epic experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to long-term care settings such as nursing homes, home health, LTAC, or skilled nursing facilities will not be considered.
