The role involves caring for a wide variety of patients. Patients will include those with complex admissions from the emergency department. The average daily census includes a minimum of 10 borders and can rise to 40 borders daily. Nurses will manage a patient ratio of 1:6. Floating between different units may be necessary as per the needs of the unit. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. Holidays will need to be covered as scheduled. Strong skills in telemetry and emergency response are essential. Experience in managing various medical devices and protocols is preferred. Nurses should have the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases. Care for ventilated patients, administering chemotherapy, and managing central lines is expected. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy teams. The facility cares for adult and geriatric patient populations. All candidates must be compliant with required certifications. Availability for onboarding and compliance documentation will be required. Candidates must be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
