Med-Peds Faculty & Part-Time APD — Academic Medicine

Overview University Health Physicians (UHP) is the academic group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC SOM) in conjunction with its major teaching facility Truman Medical Centers/University Health (TMC/UH). UHP serves as the primary physician group for TMC/UH, a safety-net health system in Kansas City, MO. During the 2020 pandemic, UHP and its affiliated institutions were recognized as a regional leader in COVID care and testing. Position Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) faculty for Primary Care positions. Opportunities include ambulatory-only or combined ambulatory + inpatient practice within a mission-driven, safety-net academic medical center. Responsibilities Provide high-quality clinical care in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Contribute to teaching and academic activities for residents and medical students. Participate in program leadership and educational initiatives as applicable. Part-Time Leadership Role Inclusive Part-Time Leadership Role (0.1 FTE): Associate Program Director - Med-Peds Residency. Start date: July 1, 2026. The APD will support the residency's educational mission with leadership in: Residency Recruitment Longitudinal QI Curriculum ITE Remediation & Coaching Board Preparation Curriculum Qualifications MD/DO with Med-Peds board certification Experience in medical education strongly preferred QI training/experience (or ability to obtain prior to start) Compensation & Benefits Salary commensurate with experience and academic rank Comprehensive benefits package Supportive academic environment with opportunities for professional growth Applicant Notes H1B applicants are welcome to apply.
