Manager, Quality Control Manager (QCM)The Manager, Quality Control Manager (QCM) holds accountability and responsibility to ensure that Chemring Energetic Devices' (CED) company-wide inspection processes meet quality standards/processes/procedures, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Working with Quality Inspection Leads, the QCM develops and oversees quality processes, ensures work is completed per schedule(s) requirements, leads inspections and audits, analyzes quality data, and implements corrective actions to improve performance. The QCM holds accountability for assigned personnel to be competently trained and continue development of staff.RequirementsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Manage the day-to-day operations of CED's Quality Assurance Inspection department; holds full accountability for accuracy of work and safe and efficient operational outputs as predicated by company policyDirect the planning and scheduling of work to be performed to meet business needs, manufacturing schedules and on-time delivery to the customerEnsure compliance with the Quality management System (QMS) for delegated and designated responsibilitiesEstablish priorities and allocate resources as required to accomplish all Inspection department goalsEnsure a high level of skills, competency and cross training within the department for maximum flexibilityEnsure segregation and disposition of non-conforming materials outside the Inspection teamEnsure the team has the correct tools, systems and instruction to perform duties to a high degree of accuracy, completeness and complianceManage employee performance by providing routine feedback to Inspection Lead(s) and assigned team membersManage the Non-conforming Reports process as related to non-conforming materials; ensure material custody transfer are complete per policy requirementsLead the Corrective Action Response (CAR) process for assigned / delegated responsibilitiesHolds ownership of CED's calibration process and outcomesEffectively interface directly with various departments including Program Management, Engineering, Contracts and Manufacturing to be the subject matter expert in resolution of quality control questions and concernsMonitor and report on assigned KPI's; recommend and implement corrective actions for identified deviationsWork with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering and management staff on programs and proceduresOTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies and proceduresEnsures 100% compliance with the Chemring Operational Framework, Code of Conduct and U.S. Code of Ethics and Business ConductOther duties / responsibilities as assigned by leadershipSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Directly supervise Quality Inspection Leads and their assigned personnel.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in engineering or business, or equivalent combination of education and experienceEXPERIENCE:Minimum 5 years of progressive experience of Quality Control / Inspection within a manufacturing environment; experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry is highly preferredMinimum 3 years of supervisory experienceSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Lawful US person (ITAR restriction)Must be eligible to possess explosive under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic DevicesEffectively work in an environment of shifting prioritiesExtensive working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5; ability to read blueprints and drawingsExcellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, team leadership, and organizational skillsExcellent critical-thinking skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyProfessional written and verbal communication skillsHigh degree of integrity and trustworthinessExperience with ERP systems; Microsoft D365 experience preferredSolid proficiency in Microsoft applications/softwarePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLifting carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Must be able to pass vision requirements based on contracting requirement. Involves sitting, standing and walking throughout the day.
