Building Automation Technician

Control Systems TechnicianPosition Overview:Responsible for monitoring the control systems of automated equipment utilizing software to verify that the controls are within certain parameters. When controls exceed or fall below specifications, they must quickly troubleshoot the problem to avoid or minimize interruptions to production.Job Duties:Perform periodic preventative maintenance to ensure issues are detected early and resolved before the equipment fails. Work with OEM to track open repairs and maintenance.Troubleshoot and repair field wiring and sensors. Modify controllers, sensors, and components, and troubleshoot communications issues.Perform root cause analysis of HVAC controls systems malfunctions while striving for continuous improvement and making recommendations.Startup and commissioning of new systems and functionsWork closely with installation subcontractors and coordinate work with them to ensure projects are completed on time and per code, standards, and contract requirementsPerform a point-to-point checkout per standard proceduresPerform other duties as assigned.Harris County is an Equal Opportunity EmployerThis position is subject to a criminal history check. This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
