Operations Sort Lead - Overnight

About the role The Operations Sort Lead oversees daily sort activities within a last-mile delivery station, ensuring packages are accurately sorted and staged for driver dispatch. This role will support a team of warehouse associates, supports on-time route departures, and maintains safety, quality, and productivity standards in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Shift 9:30pm - 6am, 5 days a week including weekends Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate inbound package sort operations for last-mile delivery routes Supervise, coach, and motivate sort associates during shift Ensure accurate scanning, sorting, and staging of packages by route Monitor sort timelines to guarantee on-time driver dispatch Track and report key performance metrics (sort rate, mis-sorts, dispatch timeliness) Communicate and collaborate with management to resolve package discrepancies, damages, and routing issues Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures Collaborate with dispatchers, route planners, and driver teams Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize flow and reduce errors Ensure equipment is turned in and accounted for by EOD Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Sort accuracy / mis-sort percentage Packages sorted per hour Safety incident rate Team productivity and attendance Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or last-mile delivery operations Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred Experience with handheld scanners and routing systems Strong leadership and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in early morning or late-night shifts Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin or English and Spanish is a strong asset for internal collaboration but not required.
