Nurse Practitioner

Work Schedule City/State: West Nyack, New York Department: Community Health & Wellness Work Shift: Day Work Days: Monday‑Friday (Mon‑Fri) Scheduled Hours: 8:00PM – 4:30AM (8hours/day) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40hours Hourly Rate/Range: Starting at $67.00 (subject to shift differential, experience, education, etc.) Responsibilities Evaluation and treatment of walk‑in and scheduled patients Obtaining history and physical examinations Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing Performing venipuncture, injections, and minor office procedures Patient counseling and education, and prescribing and adjusting medications and treatments Administration of medications by IM/IV/SC/PO route Triaging patient complaints and symptoms/signs via in‑person, phone, video or electronic means Working to improve patient adherence and retention in care Performing phlebotomy and other specimen collection when necessary Educating patients on risk‑reduction techniques Assisting other staff with examinations and specimen collection Participating as an active member in team meetings, clinical flow improvement, and QI/QA activities Documenting and billing for all clinical encounters accurately and timely per Montefiore Nyack standards Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exemplary customer‑service skills to present a consistent and coordinated high‑quality patient experience Defend and preserve the rights of patients regarding all aspects of care, information, privacy, and knowledge Demonstrate respect for cultural diversity with patients, colleagues, and the healthcare team Demonstrate LGBTQ+ sensitivity and competency Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to think independently and exercise good judgment in situations requiring initiative and ingenuity Strong interpersonal skills to communicate tactfully and effectively with patients, employees, and internal and external customers Familiarity with all medical procedures performed in the medical office or hospital setting Working knowledge of industry regulations and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Problem‑solving skills and abilities Proficiency with computers and electronic health record documentation Detail‑oriented and flexible with working hours to accommodate facility needs Ability to establish collaborative and collegial relationships with healthcare members Ability to communicate the plan of care to assigned patients and involved parties Adherence to the Montefiore Nyack code of respect and professional standards Capability to obtain health‑care proxy and living will when appropriate Environment & Physical Demands The work environment may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and infectious diseases Noise level is usually moderate Roles require standing, sitting, walking, using hands for fine motor tasks, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Occasional lifting of up to 50pounds Requires close vision Legal & Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Montefiore Nyack Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
